CLAIMSYNC : TRANSFORMING PATIENT MANAGEMENT IN GHANA

Freshly named amongst the annual ‘Forbes 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa 2014,’ Seth Akumani is taking his company, Ghana and Africa to new heights. It all started with four entrepreneurs in training out on a field trip. They discovered all the massive problems in the health sector associated with patient records and medical claims; which were almost always paper based. This is the 21st century, the digital age! For them it was really that simple and just like that ClaimSync was founded.

ClaimSync is a complete claims processing software that facilitates clinics, hospitals among other healthcare related organizations to mechanize patients’ medical records and to process records electronically. As stated earlier this is the digital age where people take things such as automated medical records for granted; but not Akumani and his team. What Claimsync has done is basically take the whole medical claims process and put it online to make sure that it is more efficient and more accurate. Their solution allows these healthcare providers to effortlessly prepare medical claims and then send them by electronic means to health insurance companies.

On average it takes 11 months for the claims process to be complete, in that period of time someone in critical condition who is desperate for the money could have easily lost their lives. Worst bit about the whole thing is it is all completely avoidable. So not only is ClaimSync making a name for themselves and changing the face of patient management but they are making a positive impact on the community and saving lives.
