Africa Fashion Week London 2014 will take place at The West Hall at Olympia Kensingtonbetween the 8th and 9th of August 2014. The already established event is expecting 25,000 guests which comprise of fashion industry professionals, international media and people with a flair for good style. This year’s event will focus heavily on the Market Place which will ensure that public awareness about African brands will increase, and those brands that take place will benefit monetarily as well. The organizers have been working in extremely close proximity with the African brands to guarantee their needs are met to the best of their ability. This way it’s not just about what the organizers think is necessary but what the designers believe they need to succeed, kind of like setting your own questions for an exam.
According to CNN last year’s event “reaffirmed why Africa-inspired designers are fast catching the eye of the fashion world,” looking at the pictures and videos (check out below) from that show it is very easy to agree with the news network. I personally cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us.
